Vote Like your Rights Depend on It
Hi there. How are you?
As I write this on the 4th of July, I’m not feeling particularly celebratory. Not so proud to be an American right now. Among other things, it’s time to vote like your rights depend on it.
I designed these postcards in 2018, when I started writing Postcards to Voters. We were a year into Trump’s presidency. Things were bleak and I needed to do something productive. Handwriting postcards to voters was an easy way to make an impact. You can read more about Postcards to Voters and how to get involved HERE.
Putting my Money Where my Mouth Is
In light of the recent Supreme Court rulings, it seems more important than ever to vote like your rights depend on it. Others must feel the same way too as these postcards have become a best seller in my shop. I’m thrilled that something I made will hopefully inspire others to write and to vote.
I want to do more though.
I’ve decided to donate $5.00 from each set of 60 postcards ($2.50 from sets of 25) I sell to Planned Parenthood. It’s a little way for me to fight for the rights of women. All of my postcard designs are included in this initiative.
It’s Time to Take Action
If you’re upset about the direction things are going in our country, I encourage you to take action in some way. Write to your senators and representatives, give money to organizations you believe in, be kind and compassionate to everyone you encounter, even if you don’t see eye to eye with them. In the very least, please VOTE.
